Description
Catalyst Development develops and markets innovative software tools for the developer and end user community. Catalyst Development was founded in April 1995 and incorporated March 1, 1996. Catalyst began by offering a free product called SocketWrench. It was an opportunity to offer something to the development community to assist in the development of applications for TCP/IP networks (most notably the Internet) while drawing attention to the company and its web site. This presented a way in which Catalyst could gain valuable feedback through the support of SocketWrench of what customers wanted and expected. Catalyst used this information in the development of its commercial version of SocketWrench called SocketTools. Catalyst SocketTools shipped on April 3, 1996. SocketTools has almost exclusively been marketed via the Internet. Being a developer's tool for the Internet, it certainly was a natural match. Today, there are hundreds of developers every day that access the Catalyst site as a result of the company's marketing efforts.
